"Mesta" is found in the SW of Chios, 35 km long from the city, in the wider region of Mastihohoria (where is produced the mastic gum) and is the most distanced from the medieval villages, but also the most well - conserved. It has roughly 560 residents. Mesta is a medieval village, model of defensive architecture and unique in the Hellenic space.
